10K Gold & Sapphire ASTE American Society of Tool Engineers Lapel Pin (SME)

Description

This is a GORGEOUS Vintage 10K Yellow Gold and Sapphire ASTE Past Chairman Lapel Pin.  The Pin measures almost 3/4 inch across by just over 1/2 inch high. The pin is solid and heavy see how thick it is by the side photo below; it weighs 2.5 grams including the screw (but not the back).  The pin is a gorgeous color of gold almost like a rose gold and the exposed side of the screw back looks plated to match.  It was hard to photograph due to the glare of the gold, but take a look at photo 4 and you can see the color best.
The pin features white and blue enameling, the ASTE in white enamel is flanked by two sparkling white Sapphires.  The words PAST CHAIRMAN is highlighted in gold surrounded by blue enamel. The back of the pin is hallmarked by the maker which looks like BB CO. the mark of 10K (for 10K gold) and then another shield type of mark that has the letters: MPB and PIU. As a side, we scratch tested the gold and it is slightly stronger than 10K.
Condition:  Overall the pin is in great used condition but it is used and has very minor signs of use.
