Antique Faux Tortoise Shell and 9k Gold Needle Case
Here we have a nicely made antique English needle case with a faux tortoise shell body and a 9k gold top and bottom. The top cap has a good hinge and closes tightly, and also has a turquoise cabochon which facilitates the opening and closing of the case. Fully marked for Birmingham (anchor), 1907-08 (date letter 'h'), 9k gold (9 and 375) and the workshop of Horton and Allday (H & A). A nice addition to your sewing or 'objet de vertu' collection !
