Antique Victorian or Edwardian SEWING THREAD CASE
Fob Brass & Marbled Celluloid?
This is a an antique thread spool holder
with marbled green and faux-mother of pearl design over brass
. There is an original colorful tassel attached to a triangular ring at the end. I think the marbled part is a thin layer of celluloid, though I am not sure. I am not entirely sure of the age, but it is likely 1880s-1920s. I think celluloid was used on photo albums even in the 1800s. If anyone knows the age of this piece, let me know! A measuring stick is shown in the photos. Please see photos carefully for condition, as this is an antique and has some wear. The tassel is still attached, but very delicately.
